Título: CENTRAL GIANT CELL LESION IN THE MAXILLA: FROM DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF BROWN TUMOR TO DEATH DUE TO COVID-19

Nome do Apresentador: Thiago Macedo MARQUES

Categoria do Trabalho: Painel de caso clínico (PCC)

Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: A 28-year-old female patient, presenting with a nodule in the right maxilla for approximately 60 days, which worsened following the extraction of teeth 16 and 17 due to suspected dental focus lesion. Intraoral examination revealed a single tumor extending from the palate to the alveolar ridge, with an intact surface on the palate and ulcerated on the ridge. No cervical lymphadenopathy was observed on extrabuccal examination. The patient reported spontaneous pain, partially alleviated by analgesics. Laboratory tests indicated elevated levels of urea and creatinine. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histological analysis suggested a Central Giant Cell Lesion. The possibility of a Brown Tumor of Hyperparathyroidism was considered due to the laboratory findings, but it was not confirmed due to the patient's death from COVID-19 during hospitalization for dialytic therapy following the exacerbation of renal disease.
