Título: AMELOBLASTIC FIBROMA MIMICKING A DENTIGEROUS CYST: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: The ameloblastic fibroma is a rare odontogenic mixed tumor characterized by the proliferation of epithelial and ectomesenchymal components. The present case is about a 14-year-old female, with delayed eruption of right mandibular first molar and no facial asymmetries. Imaging exams showed a well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion associated with the crown of the same unerupted tooth, causing no displacement or resorption of adjacent roots, or bulging of cortical bone. The clinical diagnosis was dentigerous cyst. The lesion was excised, with extraction of involved tooth. Microscopic examination revealed the presence of odontogenic epithelial cords and islands, within a cellularized ectomesenchyma, without atypias. The histopathological diagnosis was ameloblastic fibroma. The patient is under regular follow-up, with bone repair and no signs of recurrence after 6 months of treatment.
