Resumo: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are rare but potentially fatal mucocutaneous reactions. Oral lesions result in painful ulcers and erosions, making basic functions like speaking, swallowing, and eating difficult, increasing the risk of dehydration and infections. Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) has shown effectiveness in accelerating healing. This case report demonstrates the positive impact of PBMT on pain control and oral lesion healing in children with SJS and SJS/TEN. The PBMT protocol involved targeted irradiation using a diode laser (DMC Equipamentos LTDA, São Carlos, Brazil) emitting at 660 nm, 100 mW, 1 J per point, and a fluency of 17.5 J/cm2 per point. Treatment was administered every other day, totaling 19 and 7 days for SJS and SJS/TEN cases, respectively. Application of PBMT in SJS/TEN can enhance quality of life by alleviating pain, facilitating basic oral functions, and reducing the risk of secondary infections.
