Resumo: Mucocele is a common nodular lesion in the oral cavity, caused by the obstruction or rupture of a salivary gland duct, leading to the extravasation of mucin into the adjacent soft tissues. There is no age predilection, being more prevalent in the lower lip region (81.9% of cases), and may appear in the anterior region of the tongues ventral surface, which accounts for only 5% of affected sites. This study reports a rare case of mucocele located in the Blandin-Nuhn glands, in a 17-year-old male patient with a rounded, normochromic, and fluctuant mucous volume palpable in the ventral portion of the tongue that evolved over 45 days. The recommended treatment was excisional biopsy of the lesion in 2 fragments, one superficial and the other involving muscle tissue, in order to reduce the recurrence rate. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of mucocele of the Blandin-Nuhn glands.
