Resumo: Patients undergoing cancer treatment may be susceptible to immunosuppression and exacerbation of oral infections. We reported 3 cases, two men and a woman, with an average age of 42 years, diagnosed with acute apical abscess (APA), during chemotherapy for the treatment of lymphoma and myelodysplastic syndrome. None of them had undergone a previous dental evaluation in our service. One month before APA the C-reactive protein values were 1.75, 5.89, and 6, changing on the day of admission to 3.46, 1.75 and 3.09 and after one week to 0.74, 0.23, and 0.15. Intraoral drainage, endodontic urgency, and intravenous medication were performed. Endodontic treatments were completed with efficacy and safe. Endodontic treatments are essential to prevent and treat infection of cancer patient.
