Resumo: Simple bone cyst (SBC) is an empty intraosseous lesion or containing blood, serous or serosanguinous fluid, and found predominantly in the body mandible, during the second and third decades of life, with no gender differences. The majority is asymptomatic and discovered on routine examination. A 14-years-old boy was referred to the Oral Medicine service with a report of a radiolucent area in the mandible observed during a routine examination. Image exam demonstrated a unilocular radiolucency between the roots of vital teeth 34 to 36. Fine needle aspiration was performed and material was processed in accordance with the cell-block technique. Glass slides stained with hematoxylin and eosin were obtained and analyzed. The SBC diagnosis was confirmed. The patient was referred to lesion treatment. Cell-block technique when associated with clinical and image data can be used as an ancillary tool for the diagnosis of SBC.
