Título: COMPOUND ODONTOMAS IN THE ANTERIOR MANDIBLE: A REPORT OF THREE CASES

Nome do Apresentador: Mirela Godoi Nunes DE OLIVEIRA

Categoria do Trabalho: Painel de caso clínico (PCC)

Área Temática: Patologia Oral

Resumo: This report describes three well-documented cases of compound odontomas. Patients 1 and 2, 15- and 14-year-old males, respectively, showed lesions associated with impaction of mandibular permanent canines. Patient 3, a 33-year-old female, presented the lesion without any relation to dental impaction. Patient 2 exhibited the largest odontoma (5 cm), causing displacement of the crown of the right permanent mandibular canine towards the base of the mandible. All cases occurred in the right anterior mandible and appeared as asymptomatic lesions. In all cases, computed tomography revealed the presence of a well-delimited radiopaque/hyperdense mass formed by numerous tooth-like structures, surrounded by a hypodense zone. All patients underwent excision of the lesions and the specimens were sent for histopathological analysis. Histopathological examination demonstrated dental fragments composed of enamel, cementum, dentin, and pulp tissue, confirming the radiographic diagnosis of compound odontoma. No complications were observed after treatment, and complete bone repair was detected.
