Título: DIAGNOSIS OF BREAST CANCER AFTER IDENTIFICATION IN A MANDIBULAR LESION

Resumo: A 32-year-old healthy woman, who was on continuous contraceptive use, complained of pain and paresthesia in her cheek and chin. Extraoral examination revealed left cervical lymphadenopathy. Intraorally, there was a purplish swelling on the posterior left mandibular alveolar ridge, evolving for approximately 90 days. Computed tomography revealed a hypodense area with irregular margins between teeth 34 and 36. Aspirative puncture was negative, followed by an incisional biopsy. Histopathology confirmed adenocarcinoma, and to confirm the lesions origin, immunohistochemistry was performed, showing positivity for KI-67, progesterone, estradiol, estrogen, and GATA-3, and negativity for HER2. The nodule in the left breast reported in the anamnesis led to a consultation with a mastologist, who confirmed, through biopsy, the diagnosis of invasive mammary carcinoma, luminal B type. Metastases were also identified in other regions such as bones, lungs, and liver. The patient underwent palliative treatment and passed away 8 months after the initial diagnosis.
