Resumo: Syphilis, resulting from infection with Treponema pallidum, progresses through primary, secondary, latent, and occasionally tertiary stages. In a clinical cohort of 14 male and 2 female patients, with an average age of 41 years, 4 individuals presented with single lesions while 12 exhibited multiple lesions, predominantly affecting the lips, tongue, and oral mucous membranes. These lesions displayed various characteristics indicative of systemic dissemination, including painless ulcers with erosive or ulcerative features, well-defined borders, and a base covered with a pseudomembranous and purulent membrane, often accompanied by localized hyperemia and edema. The average duration of symptoms among the patients was 28 days. Given the complex and severe nature of syphilis-induced lesions, treatment depends on accurate clinical diagnosis and antimicrobial therapy, complemented by additional evaluations such as biopsies for lesion staging and serological tests for pathogen identification. Early detection and precise treatment are crucial for halting disease progression and reducing further complications.
