Resumo: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a common cause of growth of soft tissue in the oral cavity, especially in the gingiva. A 9-year-old boy and a 78-year-old female presented with a progressive, non-painful but bleeding nodular growth on the lower lip. Intraoral examination of both patients revealed a nodule on the lower lip, approximately 1 cm in diameter, with a sessile base and an erythematous to purplish color. The clinical hypothesis was pyogenic granuloma (PG). An excisional biopsy was performed in both lesions, and microscopic examination revealed highly vascularized proliferation similar to granulation tissue, covered by normal epithelium, confirming the diagnosis of PG. Patients are being followed up for 8 and 13 months, without recurrence. The most common location for a PG is the gingiva, but it can also affect the lips. Therefore, PG should be considered in cases of nodular lip lesions.
