Resumo: Objectives: evaluate the distribution of oral mucositis and nutritional status, and analyze the association between nutritional profile and the intensity of oral mucositis. Study Design: Prospective cohort, in pediatric patients with Ewing Sarcoma. Mucositis was classified according to the National Cancer Institute criteria, the variables used for nutritional classification were weight for age, height for age, weight for height. Laboratory parameters associated with malnutrition were evaluated. Nutritional assessment was carried out on D0 and D10 of cycles number 01, 03 and 05 of the antineoplastic treatment protocol. Results: Eutrophic state was the most frequent. There was no malnutrition. The maximum degrees of mucositis were 46% for GI and GII in the 1st cycle, 52% for GII in the 3rd cycle and 48% for GI in the 5th cycle. There was a statistically significant association between Malnutrition on D0 of the 1st cycle (D0/1st cycle) and the presence of ulcerative mucositis (p=0.040), Malnutrition on D0/1st cycle and maximum degree of mucositis (p=0.037), Leukocyte count on D0/1st cycle and maximum degree of mucositis (p=0.014) and Leukocyte count on D0/1st cycle and maximum degree of mucositis (p=0.039) Conclusion: Nutritional parameters were associated with the presence of severe mucositis episodes in the studied population.
