Título: Traumatic Ulcerative Granuloma with Stromal Eosinophilia on the Tongue: A Case Report

Resumo: Traumatic ulcerative granuloma (TUG) is a benign, self-limiting oral mucosa lesion with an unknown pathogenesis. Clinical diagnosis is often challenging. We present the case of a 51-year-old female patient who complained of mouth sores. Intraoral examination revealed an ulcerated lesion with an elevated border, erythema, and a yellow-whitish center located in the ventral portion of the tongue, approximately 2.5 cm in size. An incisional biopsy showed exuberant polymorphic lymphoid proliferation, numerous eosinophils, and muscle destruction. The final diagnosis was traumatic ulcerative granuloma with stromal eosinophilia. Treatment consisted of topical corticosteroids and analgesics for pain management. The ulcer healed within 3 months after the incisional biopsy, but a new lesion was observed 2 months later, followed by spontaneous remission. This case underscores the diagnostic challenge associated with TUG and emphasizes the importance of detailed and accurate clinical examination. It is crucial to differentiate TUG-related lesions from oral malignant ulcers.
