Título: Dental Alterations in Pediatric Patients Undergoing Multimodal Treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma: A Case Report

Resumo: The 8-year-old female patient was diagnosed with Embryonic Parameningeal Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) in the right nasal cavity, spreading to bilateral cervical lymph nodes at 3 years old. The patient underwent chemotherapy treatment with Vincristine, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Actinomycin, Ifosfamide, Etoposide, Irinotecan, and radiotherapy in the head and neck region, totaling 45Gy. During the oncological treatment, the patient joined a dental follow-up where it was possible to identify deciduous dentition, anterior open bite and distal step in molars. At the end of oncological treatment, presented widespread active non-cavitated lesions, followed by cavitated lesions and tooth loss. In addition, failed root formation led to acute mobility in the erupted permanent teeth and several radiographic findings. Multimodal treatment for RMS can result in significant sequelae. The use of chemotherapy protocols and radiotherapy for RMS are associated with the development of dental alterations, requiring dental follow-up to ensure the quality of life of pediatric patients.
