Resumo: Osteomas are benign neoplasms composed of compact or cancellous bone. They are rarely diagnosed outside craniofacial skeleton. They can arise on the surface of the bone (periosteal, peripheral or exophytic osteoma) or be located in medullary bone (endosteal or central osteoma). A 52-year-old female patient presented with an increase in hard volume in left preauricular region and a sclerotic mass circumscribed in the region of left coronoid process on panoramic radiograph. Computed tomography revealed a lobulated hyperdense image, measuring approximately 3 cm in its largest diameter in left coronoid process. Initially, osteoma was suspected and surgical excision under general anesthesia was proposed. Due to intraoperative complications, part of the lesion wasnt removed. With histopathological confirmation of osteoma, and without aesthetic or functional impact, clinical and radiographic monitoring was defined by the team together with the patient. She continues without signs of growth of the lesion, monitored for 9 months.
