Resumo: Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is a systemic fungal infection caused by a dimorphic fungus endemic in the Americas, with the highest incidence in Brazil. Hereby we present the clinical features of 8 cases of PCM with involvement of the oral mucosa. All cases were diagnosed in men between 50 and 65-years old who worked outdoors in rural areas in the northwest region of the São Paulo state, Brazil. Of the 8 patients with oral involvement by PCM, one case was associated with immunosuppression by acquired immunodeficiency (AIDS). For all cases, oral lesions were characterized by multiple painful strawberry-like ulcers mostly affecting buccal and labial mucosa and palate. Gingival involvement simulating advanced periodontal disease with multiple mobile teeth was also observed. PCM must be included in the differential diagnosis of patients exposed to rural areas and immunosuppressed patients who present with spread granulomatous ulcers in the oral mucosa.
