Resumo: Female patient, 64-year-old, who was treaty at the outpatient clinic presenting painless swelling in the upper labial mucosa region. Upon physical examination an approximately 0.5 cm in diameter submucosal nodule located in the right upper labial mucosa was observed. It had a normal mucosal color, mobile on palpation, and had 6-month evolution. The diagnostic hypotheses reached were benign glandular and mesenchymal neoplasia.During excisional biopsy,a well -definid lesion was observed.Histopathologic evaluation on hematoxylin and eosin stain revealed a well-encapsulated nodule characterized by in 1-2 layers of columnar and/or cuboidal cells forming canal-like structures in a loose vascular stroma surrounded by normal-appearing salivary gland tissue. Additionally, intraluminal squamous balls were also visualized. Based on the clinical and morphological features, the diagnosis of canalicular adenoma was established. Cases of canalicular adenoma have a favorable prognosis, with no evidence of malignant transformation and uncommon recurrence.
