Título: CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT OF AMELOBLASTOMA: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Ameloblastomas are benign neoplasms of odontogenic origin that grow slowly, are locally invasive and have high recurrence rates if not treated properly. A 63-year-old female was referred with a history of painless swelling in the left mandible, associated with difficulty in opening the mouth and displacement of the mandible. Extraoral physical examination revealed a slight asymmetry in the lower third of the face on the left side. Intraoral physical examination showed expansion of bone cortical bone by lingual and buccal, in the lower molar's region on the left side. Cone beam computed tomography revealed bone expansion with thinned corticals located in the left body of the mandible. An incisional biopsy was performed, and the histopathological examination was compatible with ameloblastoma. Subsequently was performed, under general anesthesia, the taping and the gauze soaked in the procedures escin are changed twice a week. The patient is under follow-up with evaluation of periodic radiographic exams.
