Resumo: A 16-year-old young man presented with a 1-year swelling in the region of the incisive papilla. On intraoral examination, a sessile, painless, superficial nodule was observed. It was similar in color to the normal mucosa and measured 1.2x1x0.3cm. An excisional biopsy was performed regarding a clinical hypothesis of fibroma. Histopathologically, a nodular mucosa fragment was covered by parakeratinized stratified squamous epithelium displaying acanthosis without atypia. The lamina propria was well vascularized and showed stromal fibrous tissue permeated by numerous striated muscle bundles arranged transversely and longitudinally alongside nerve bundles. A diagnosis was Neuromuscular Hamartoma was rendered. The patient has no signs of recurrence after almost three years of follow-up. Neuromuscular Hamartoma is a benign tumor of rare development that affects the peripheral nerves and has a low recurrence after complete surgical excision.
