Resumo: A 72-year-old man complained of oral papular and nodular lesions causing difficulty in chewing and swallowing. Previously, he was diagnosed with skin lesions having received the diagnosis of dermal fibroma with extensive stromal hyalinization. The patient reported glaucoma and rheumatoid arthritis. The intraoral physical examination showed numerous papular and nodular lesions of firm consistency and yellowish color in the mucosa of the lips, buccal mucosa, labial commissure and tongue. The labial commissure lesions were wider and macroglossia was observed. An incisional biopsy was performed on the upper lip, labial commissure and belly of the tongue. Microscopic examination revealed the presence of hyaline deposits distributed in the connective tissue, on the walls of blood vessels and involving ducts of minor salivary glands. The congo red stain test was applied and the diagnosis of amyloidosis was established. The patient was referred to medical treatment and remains monitored.Acknowledgments: PAIC-UNIFAE
