Resumo: Amyloidosis is a disease characterized by the progressive deposition of abnormal proteins that can occur in any organ. In the oral cavity, the tongue is the most common affected site, usually causing macroglossia. The aim of this presentation is to report a rare case of amyloidosis in the inferior lip. A 86-year- old man was referred for evaluation of an asymptomatic condition due to a wound on the lip for at least 3 months. Clinically, a lesion with irregular, hardened edges and an infiltrative appearance. During the biopsy, the region presented low vascularization. Histologically, in the lamina propria, was observed deposition of eosinophilic material positive for Congo red stain.
