Resumo: Bone metastasis from gallbladder cancer (GBC) is uncommon and usually associated with advanced disease and poor prognosis. The present case is a report of a 74-year-old male with a persistent osteolytic lesion in the body of the mandible, initially treated as an odontogenic abscess. Medical history revealed that a complete surgical resection of the gallbladder was performed 4 years back to treat a GBC contained in the gallbladder. A liver metastasis was discovered during follow-up after 3.5 years. Intraoral examination showed a firm nodule in the right posterior mandibular fornix, measuring approximately 2 cm. A CT scan of the mandible was conducted and exhibited an osteolytic lesion with irregular borders. Histological analysis revealed a moderately differentiated metastatic gallbladder adenocarcinoma. The patient was referred to oncology and MRI scan (magnetic resonance) detected brain metastasis. The patients condition deteriorated rapidly and he died shortly after.
