Resumo: A 2-years old female pediatric patient was diagnosed with type 1 neurofibromatosis and optic nerve glioma. Subsequently, she underwent chemotherapy consisting of vincristine, carboplatin, doxorubicin, and vinorelbine. She has not exhibited any signs of glioma recurrence for four years. At age of 9 she was admitted in dental care. Extraoral examination revealed slight facial asymmetry. Intraoral evaluation showed delayed tooth eruption, crossbite, midline deviation, and dental anomalies, including microdontia, twinning, and supernumerary teeth. Treatment will encompass orthodontics, maxillofacial surgery, as well as preventive and restorative dentistry. In pediatric patients, apart from the acute side effects, the timing of polychemotherapy can heighten their vulnerability to developing alterations in structures undergoing formation, such as teeth. This case emphasizes the challenges associated with managing the long-term effects of treatment for optic nerve glioma and underscores the significance of comprehensive dental evaluation and follow-up before, during, and after cancer treatment in pediatric oncology.
