Título: SMALL CELL NEUROENDOCRINE CARCINOMA IN PARANASAL SINUS: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Female patient, 56 years old, using systemic bisphosphonates to treat osteoporosis, with a history of orthognathic surgery 15 years ago, reported pain when chewing and on palpation in the maxillary region on the right side. Panoramic radiography and computed tomography imaging exams were requested, which showed sinus disease on the right side. A sinusectomy of the maxillary sinus and biopsy of the site were performed, the collected material was sent for histopathological analysis, obtaining the differential diagnosis of Neuroendocrine Tumor and undifferentiated sinonasal carcinoma. For a more reliable and conclusive result, an immunohistochemical analysis was requested, where the markers listed suggested the diagnosis of Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. The patient was referred to the oncology hospital for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She followed the proposed treatment, making the prognosis favorable to a cure. He is currently undergoing routine monitoring and prevention by the CTBMF team, without recurrence or metastasis.
