Resumo: Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia (PEH) is a benign proliferation of epithelium within connective tissue associated with inflammatory,infectious,neoplastic, and traumatic conditions.Associated with Oral Lichen Planus(OLP), a mucocutaneous disorder with a worldwide prevalence of 2%, mimics a squamous cell carcinoma.Female patient, 36 years old, presented with a painful lesion on the buccal mucosa with an indeterminate evolution time. Clinical examination revealed erythematous areas with whitish streaks on the bilateral buccal mucosa.After the incisional biopsy, histopathological analysis revealed atrophic epithelium with sawtooth projections extending into the underlying connective tissue and predominantly lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrate just beneath the epithelium; adjacent areas showed pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia.The diagnosis was OLP.The patient showed good clinical progress and has been under follow-up.
