Resumo: 58-year-old male sought care with complaints of pain in the #17 region, irradiating the TMJ. Tooth mobility of #17, extrusion, periodontal abscess with local increased volume, and bone exposure were clinically observed. The extraction of #17 and osteotomy were performed. After 30 days, an increase in the region of #18, bone exposure on the buccal surface of #18 with whitened areas, and local burning were observed. Tomographic examination evidenced well-delimited hypoechoic and hyperechoic image on the palatine surface of #18, compatible with reactional exostosis related to periodontal disease. Removal of the injury, and #18 was chosen. Histopathological analysis evidenced cortical and trabecular bone tissue, osteoid material, and areas of endochondral calcification in between, compatible with bone dysplasia. After 8 months, the patient exhibited extensive increase in palate volume and underwent biopsy. Morphological analysis revealed malignant neoplasm formed of anaplastic cartilage, a diagnosis of chondrosarcoma. Patient underwent resection, followed by reconstruction.
