Título: SURGICAL TREATMENT OF BILATERAL MRONJ IN THE MANDIBLE AFTER IMPLANT PLACEMENT: CASE REPORT

Resumo: Female patient, 85 years old, diagnosed with Osteopenia with prescription, by the Rheumatologist, of oral Risendronate for 3 years and two doses of Denosumab: November/2020 and May/2021, without any other comorbidity. About six months later, his dentist placement dental implants in his right and left jaw, where the gums had not healed and the bone was exposed. Patient referred to our service four months later for diagnosis and management complaining of local discomfort. After a detailed clinical examination and computed tomography, the diagnosis was Medication-related Osteonecrosis of the Jaws (MRONJ) in the region of implants 44, 45, 46, 35, 36 and 37. We planned surgical treatment: extraction of teeth 35 and 43, removal of the implants, removal of necrotic bone by fluorescence, bone biopsy, aPDT, Autologous Leukoplatelet Fibrin. Histopathological diagnosis: MRONJ. Weekly post-operative Lasertherapy (Photobiomodulation and aPDT) was performed. Complete bone and tissue repair in 63 days.
