Título: Dental Management of a patient with Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome in hospital environment: A Case Report

Resumo: A 17-year-old boy diagnosed with Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome, which is considered a severe variant of dyskeratosis congenita, was referred to the dental and stomatology service at a tertiary hospital. During the intraoral examination, a mouth opening limitation, severe periodontitis with spontaneous bleeding, and teeth with extensive caries were observed. Due to the progressive combined immune deficiency and aplastic anemia exhibited by the patient, all dental procedures were scheduled to be performed under general anesthesia. A bleeding complication occurred during the initial intervention procedure, requiring rescheduling to complete at another time. Following this procedure, the patient developed an exuberant herpetic lesion in lip, which was treated with photobiomodulation therapy for 2 weeks. This case emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases for dental management in hospital environment.
