Resumo: A 61-year-old woman was referred to our service with multiple ulcerated lesions in the oral and oropharyngeal mucosa since 6-months, with a satisfactory remission after the onset of corticosteroid treatment. A previous histopathological analysis indicated a suprabasal acantholytic lesion in oropharyngeal lesions. A reduction in corticosteroid therapy was carried out, making it possible to perform a biopsy and immunofluorescence examination. On the day of the biopsy, the patient reported ulcerated lesions on the vaginal mucosa, recurrent epistaxis, and intense oropharyngeal pain. Physical examination revealed painful ulcerated lesions on the gingiva and left buccal mucosa. The immunofluorescence analysis revealed intercellular fluorescent deposits of IgG in the oral epithelium, confirming the diagnosis of pemphigus vulgaris. The patient is being treated with immunosuppressants and is being monitored by our multidisciplinary team.
