Título: MYOEPITHELIAL CARCINOMA: CASE REPORT WITH AN UNUSUAL RADIOGRAPHIC FINDING

Resumo: This case report describes a 54-years-old female patient with the main complaint of a one-year asymptomatic nodule in the maxillary gingiva. The intraoral clinical examination revealed sessile-based nodules located on the right side of the hard palate, with the largest measuring approximately 2.0 cm in its greatest extent. The surface covering the nodules was intact and erythematous. Panoramic radiograph and tomographic examination showed a mass on the palate with hyperdensity areas. An incisional biopsy was performed and the histopathological examination revealed glandular tissue neoplasm with proliferation of cells with clear cytoplasm and neoplastic cells with epithelioid, plasmacytoid, and fusiform morphology. Immunohistochemical analysis showed positivity for CK5, focal CK14, S-100, focal AML, P-63 and P-40. The Ki-67 labeling index was greater than 20% and CK7 was negative. The diagnosis of myoepithelial carcinoma was established, and the patient was referred to head and neck surgeon for treatment.
