Resumo: Ameloblastomas are odontogenic epithelial-derived benign tumors that typically do not exhibit calcifications. A 40-year-old male presented with painless swelling on the right mandible. The physical examination revealed a firm, fibrous swelling with a smooth and intact surface present on the buccal aspect of the right mandible. Additionally, the affected teeth exhibited positive responses during mobility and percussion tests. Cone-beam computed tomography showed a well-defined unilocular hypodense lesion in the right mandible involving teeth 43 to 46. Microscopic analysis revealed epithelial islets delimited by a single layer of tall columnar ameloblast-like cells with hyperchromatic nuclei, which were disposed in a palisade fashion and presented reversed polarity organized in the follicular pattern. Extensive squamous metaplasia and basophilic areas with calcification were observed in some islets. Histopathological diagnosis was ameloblastoma with calcification. Surgical excision was performed, with no recurrence detected during the 12-month follow-up.
