Título: RESECTION OF RECURRENCE OF AMELOBLASTOMA IN THE JAW AND REHABILITATION WITH PMMA PROSTHESIS - SIX-MONTH FOLLOW-UP

Resumo: Male patient, 48 years old, underwent enucleation of ameloblastoma in the left mandibular body 23 years ago. In 2023, the patient returned with asymmetry of the lower 1/3. The following were performed: multislice tomography, which identified a hypodense, multilocular lesion in the body and left mandibular branch, with disruption and bulging of the lingual and buccal cortices; puncture, aspirating around 10ml of hematic content; and incisional biopsy, suggestive of ameloblastoma in the anatomopathological analysis. A partial resection of the mandible was performed via intraoral access, starting from the distal of tooth 33, with disarticulation of the left TMJ. With a 3D virtual study, a PMMA prosthesis was manufactured and fixed, at the same surgical time, to the remaining hemimandible with a 2.4 mm system plate and screw. The procedure was uneventful. After a six-month follow-up, the patient presented no signs of recurrence of the lesion and had no chewing function.
