Resumo: Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rare and locally harmful benign odontogenic neoplasm. We report a case of a 36-year-old man, presenting asymptomatic volume increase in the anterior region of the mandible, with slow growth, measuring approximately 1 cm. CT revealed a well-defined hypodense lesion, containing hyperdense foci. The incisional biopsy revealed nests of clear epithelial cells, with uniform dark nuclei, mixed with clusters of eosinophilic polyhedral cells, with prominent intercellular bridges, and pleomorphic nuclei. The fibrous connective tissue stroma has deposits of amyloid material. Globular and lamellar calcifications (Liesegang rings) and dentinoids material were also observed. The predicted diagnosis was clear cell CEOT. Although uncommon, clear cell differentiation in CEOT has been uniquely recognized in the literature and should be specifically distinguished from other benign and malignant clear cell neoplasms of the jaw.
