Título: NODULAR FASCIITIS IN THE ZYGOMATIC REGION: CASE REPORT

Resumo: A female patient, 42 years old, was referred to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service due to easy asymmetry. The patient reports an injury that has been ongoing for 7 months and has no painful symptoms. On extraoral physical examination, an increase in volume was observed in the left zygomatic region, with hard consistency and movement on palpation. The tomographic examination revealed a hyperdense image, with well-defined limits, which was hypothesized to be a dermoid cyst. An excisional biopsy was performed and the material was sent for anatomopathological examination, in which the proliferation of spindle cells was observed, in the most cellularized regions there was an arrangement in fascicles and sometimes in a storiform pattern. An immunohistochemical reaction was performed with the antibodies: SOX-10 (-), vimentin (+), and α-SMA (+), concluding the diagnosis of nodular fasciitis. The patient has had no signs of recurrence for 5 months.
