Resumo: Sclerotherapy is a type of treatment for Oral Benign Vascular Lesions (OBVL), and consists of the intralesional injection of sclerosing agents. Ethanolamine Oleate (EO) is one of the sclerosing agents most used in the treatment of OBVL. The aim of this study was to define the demographic and clinical aspects of patients with OBVL treated with 5% EO. A retrospective and cohort study was carried out on cases treated from 1992 to 2022 at the Stomatology service. Out of 112 medical records reviewed, 44 were included for analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and Chi-Square test (p < 0.05). The average age of the patients was 52.89 years old, with a female predominance (77%), and 54% of the patients were black. The most frequent locations were lower lip (65.9%), tongue (11.4%), buccal mucosa (9.1%), upper lip (6.8%), palate (2.3%) and other locations (4.5%). The size of the lesions were ≤ 1 cm (72.7%), > 1 cm and ≤ 2 cm (18.2%) and > 2 cm (9.1%). There was complete regression of the lesions in 97.7% cases, without recurrence. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of 5% EO sclerotherapy in the management of oral benign vascular lesions.
