Resumo: Oral melanoacanthoma (OM) is a rare benign pigmented that was included in 2022 by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a non-neoplastic lesion. It's characterized clinically by the sudden appearance and rapid growth of a solitary brown-black macular lesion usually asymptomatic, although pain or itching sensation. The reactive infiltrate of eosinophils found on histopathology. OM has been observed across a wide range of ages and shows a higher prevalence in women and black individuals. The etiology is yet to be determined, but it's mostly associated with a chronic trauma or chemical irritants. We report a case of melanoacanthoma in a 20-year-old black male with a brown macular lesion on the left buccal mucosa that evolved rapidly over twenty days. Based on the history, Clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features, it was possible to agree on the diagnostic hypothesis of melanoacanthoma.
