Resumo: In the present case, a 59-year-old man presented with mild xerostomia and an asymptomatic, non-detachable white lesion on the dorsal surface of the tongue potentially associated with parafunctional trauma. Blood count, coagulogram, urine analysis, creatinine, urea and blood glucose exams were requested prior to the incisional biopsy procedure. Histopathological analysis revealed epithelial changes suggestive of uremic stomatitis. After correlation of clinical, histopathological and laboratory findings few metabolic alterations, the patient was referred to a nephrologist for diagnostic confirmation, evaluation and treatment. Considering that patients may experience momentary increases in uremia levels due to extrinsic factors or related to subclinical renal conditions, and the simultaneous presence of parafunction may intensify lesion appearance and compromise oral tissue repair capacity. Currently, patient he is attending regular appointments with the nephrologist and undergoing follow-up with the multidisciplinary team.
