Resumo: A 66-year-old man, rural worker, tobacco and alcohol user, was referred to our service for evaluation of a soft palate lesion. The patient had history of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CHL) since 2019 and a recent diagnosis of Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) in the nose treated with Chlorambucil and radiotherapy, respectively. He also reported two surgeries for lip cancer treatment in 1994 and 1996. Extraoral examination revealed cervical lymphadenopathy associated with the progression of CHL. Intraoral examination showed areas of erosion and white plaques on the right of the soft palate. The differential diagnosis included erythroplasia and SCC. Histopathological examination revealed a SCC in situ. Complementary examinations excluded other sites of oropharynx SCC. The surgery was initially indicated for the treatment of the oropharynx cancer. However, the patient died before the procedure due to complications of CHL.
