Resumo: A 41-year-old woman was referred to the oral medicine clinic complaining of enlarged tongue. The patient has medical history of fibromyalgia and takes sertraline regularly. Physical examination revealed the presence of an asymptomatic sessile nodule with fibroelastic consistency, normochromic surface coloration, measuring approximately 4 cm, located on the right side of the dorsum tongue. A FNAB and an incisional biopsy were performed. The hemorrhagic histological smear showed focal neutrophils and lymphocytes. Microscopic analysis revealed nonspecific chronic inflammation in the connective tissue. Immunohistochemical analysis was carried out, which was positive for the markers anti-LCA, CD3 and CD68, showing a predominance of macrophages and T lymphocytes. The diagnosis of foreign body reaction was thus established. The patient recovered well and remains under clinical follow-up.
