Título: TONGUE PYOGENIC GRANULOMAS AFTER ORAL SURGERIES WITH DIODE HIGH-POWER LASER

Resumo: Oral surgical procedures using high-power diode laser technology have garnered widespread acceptance due to their clinical advantages. However, there are complications associated with this method that remain unclarified, such as pyogenic granulomas originating from surgical wounds of oral laser surgeries. We present two pyogenic granulomas as an uncommon complication originating from the excision of oral lesions, specifically tongue leukoplakias, with the Thera Lase Surgery® diode laser (DMC Equipment, São Carlos, Brazil) with 2.5W output power, pulsed mode (66.7 Hz pulse rate), wavelength of 980 nm. These cases occurred, in a 67-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman, both on the lateral borders of the tongue. These clinical cases initiate a discussion and promote awareness of this potential adverse outcome. Obtaining information about this phenomenon, which has not yet been comprehensively described and elucidated in the literature, has the potential to prevent diagnostic and treatment mistakes.
