Resumo: Numb chin syndrome (NCS) is a sensory neuropathy of the mental nerve manifested by paresthesia and hypoesthesia of the chin and lower lip. A 55-year-old female patient complaining of unilateral NCS was referred for evaluation. The previous medical history (PMH) revealed a metastatic breast carcinoma treated surgically, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and use of pamidronate and tamoxifen for the last three years. On intra and extraoral clinical examination none alteration was observed. Due to clinical symptoms and PMH, radiological study was performed. The panoramic radiography showed a discrete radiolucent area in right mandibular ramus, and computed tomography demonstrated hypodense images representing medullary bone loss, and cortical reabsorption. These clinical manifestations and radiological features, lead to hypothesis of mandibular metastasis. The patient was referred oncological team. After three months, she underwent a scintigraphy that showed bone lesion in the mandibule, iliac and spine. Unfortunately the patient died six months later.
