Título: DIODE LASER PHOTOCOAGULATION FOR THE TREATMENT OF ORAL VASCULAR LESIONS: A REPORT OF THREE CLINICAL CASES

Resumo: Vascular lesions are benign alterations that frequently affect the oral cavity, and sometimes
interfere with the aesthetics and function. Diagnosis and treatment can be challenging for
the professional. Therefore, the use of photocoagulation is an excellent treatment
alternative, being a safe technique, with less chance of hemorrhage and causing less
discomfort to the patient. The present study reports three cases of oral vascular lesions,
treated through photocoagulation with diode laser applying 2.0W, 2-3 mm away from the
surface of the lesion with circular movements, sweeping the lesion from the center to the
periphery. The lesion began to gradually clear up. In all cases, just one treatment session
which provided a very satisfactory aesthetic and functional results, presenting itself as a safe
therapeutic modality, presenting a low rate with less postoperative discomfort, as well as
minimal scar formation.
