Título: BURKITTS LYMPHOMA MIMICS KAPOSIS SARCOMA IN AN HIV-SEROPOSITIVE PATIENT: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Manifestations of AIDS include oral lesions such as Kaposis sarcoma and non-Hodgkins lymphomas (e.g. Burkitts lymphoma). The present work aims to report a 48-year-old male patient, diagnosed with retrovirosis, that presented a sessile lesion on the lower alveolar ridge, red-violet, telangiectatic in the vestibular region, hardened, causing projection of the chin, presenting pain and bleeding, by food friction. The incisional biopsy was performed after evaluating preoperative tests (blood count, coagulogram and PT). The specimen was sent for histopathological analysis with a diagnostic hypothesis of Kaposis Sarcoma, however the diagnosis was suggestive of Burkitts Lymphoma. For diagnostic confirmation, an immunohistochemical study was requested with the following markers and their results: Bcl2-; Bcl6+; LCA-CD45+; CD20+; CD138-; EBV+; e-MYC+; CD5 focally +; HHV8-; Ki67 100%. After confirming the histopathological diagnosis, the patient was referred to the reference service for the treatment of lymphoproliferative disorders, completed chemotherapy treatment and continues without signs of recurrence.
