Resumo: A 40-year-old non-smoker female patient was referred to a stomatology service complaining of a painful lesion on the tongue, with 3 months of evolution. During the physical examination, there was an increased painless lesion that was fixed in the left submandibular lymph node and the patient had difficulty speaking. Intraoral examination revealed a sessile and hardened lesion on the left border of the tongue with a mixed appearance of a warty, nodular, and ulcerated mass with an elevated periphery measuring around 6cm. An Incisional biopsy was performed, with the clinical hypothesis of squamous cell carcinoma. Microscopically, an abundant chronic inflammatory infiltrate associated with a malignant neoplastic lesion of ectodermal origin was observed, characterized by nests and sheets of atypical epithelial cells, loss of cell adhesion, nuclear hyperchromatism, cellular pleomorphism, and keratin pearls compatible with well-differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The patient was referred to an Oncology Service for treatment.
