Resumo: A 38-year-old male patient was referred to the stomatologist. Intra-oral physical examination revealed an irregular tumor lesion on the soft palate with approximately 5 cm, sometimes reddish and other times purplish in color, painless, with no determined time of evolution but with 23 days of follow-up. Cone beam computed tomography showed a hypodense, delimited, unilocular image was observed in the anterior and posterior regions of the left maxilla, with expansion of the nasal cavity and palate, thinning and rupture of the palatal bone plate. An incisional biopsy was performed, which showed a large amount of saliva-like liquid during manipulation, leading to the hypothesis of malignant salivary gland neoplasm. Microscopically, a tumor was observed consisting of nests and pseudoductal structures formed by mucous, intermediate and clear epithelial cells, infiltrating the connective tissue, showing discrete cellular pleomorphism, compatible with mucoepidermoid carcinoma. He was referred to a head and neck surgeon for treatment.
