Resumo: A 69-year-old melanoderma male patient, hypertensive, undergoing treatment for two years for metastatic prostate cancer which included radiotherapy, chemotherapy and use zolendronic acid monthly for one year (2021-2022). He went to the stomatologist b due to severe pain a year ago, exactly where he had avulsed a tooth on his own. The intraoral physical examination showed extensive left mandibular bone exposure, with purulent discharge. Antibiotic therapy was performed, removing him from the acute condition. After the symptoms improved, a panoramic radiograph was taken and showed bone rarefaction in the body of the left mandible. The exposure area was collected to rule out bone metastasis, and microscopy showed necrotic bone associated with bacterial colonies, confirming the diagnosis of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw.
