Resumo: Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by the development of tumors of the central or peripheral nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, skin, and bones. There are three types of NF: NF1 responsible for 96% of all cases, NF2 in 3%, and Schwannomatosis (SWN) in <1%. The aim of this study is to report a case of NF1. A 36-year-old black male presented with café-au-lait spots on his abdomen and history of cutaneous nodules. A nodule was present on the hard palate lined by normal mucosa. It was fibrous, sessile, and measured 4 cm. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histological evaluation confirmed a neurofibroma as a clinical manifestation of NF1. Due to the extensive lesion and its location, the patient was referred to the surgical team for removal in a hospital setting.
