Título: LATE ALLERGIC REACTION AGAINST LIP FILLING AESTHETIC PROCEDURE

Resumo: A 66-year-old female patient presented with a chief complaint of increased volume in the lips and a sensation of dry mouth for over two months. She reported undergoing aesthetic procedures, including the application of Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic acid) in the bilateral nasolabial sulcus regions and near the labial commissure three months prior to the onset of symptoms. In her medical history, the patient reported hypertension and surgical repair of a hiatal hernia one year ago. Additionally, she reported using antihypertensive, diuretic, anticoagulant, and glaucoma medications. Physical examination revealed erythematous, well-defined, and symptomatic macules affecting the upper and lower lip mucosa and part of the bilateral buccal mucosa. An incisional biopsy of the upper lip mucosa was performed and the histopathological diagnosis was sialadenitis. Treatment consisted of prescribing antihistamines and artificial saliva. After four months of follow-up the patient showed partial remission of the lesions and symptoms. Support: CAPES, CNPq., PRPq-UFMG.
