Resumo: Previous studies have demonstrated that eosinophilic ulcer of the oral mucosa represents a subset of CD30+ lymphoproliferative disorder, with subsequent authors suggesting that several of them are reminiscent of lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP) of the skin. Microscopically, diffused infiltration by small-to-large-sized atypical lymphoid cells, frequently expressing CD30, is characteristic of LyP, which encompasses a clinicopathological spectrum including type A, B, C, D, E, and LyP with DUSP22/IRF4 rearrangement. To date, approximately 27 intraoral LyP cases have been reported. Of them, 7 cases were diagnosed as LyP type C, frequently confused with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). A 60-year-old male was referred with a symptomatic ulcer in the tongue one month ago. After incisional biopsy, microscopy showed numerous atypical large cells suspicious for ALCL, which were immunopositive for CD3, CD4, CD30, and TIA-1. Ki-67 stained most large cells. EBER was negative. CD56 and ALK were negative. After 3-week, the lesion completely healed.
