Resumo: A 61-year-old female patient came to the clinic complaining of pain, xerostomy, ulcers and burning tongue and gums following a COVID-19. On extra-oral examination, inflammatory lymph nodes were observed in the right submandibular region. In the intra-oral examination, lesions were identified, sometimes ulcerated, sometimes leukoplastic and striated, with pain and burning in the buccal mucous membranes, lingual edges, bottom of the anterior lower vestibule and lower gums. A toluidine blue test was performed and an incisional biopsy of the left edge of the tongue was chosen. The anatomopathological exam showed a severe epithelial dysplasia associated with a lichenoid inflammatory infiltrate and a large number of candida spp. in the surface layer of the epithelium. In this case, the patient was treated for candidiasis and referred to a head and neck surgeon due to the extension of the lingual lesion with marked dysplasia and will be undergoing oral liquen planus follow-up.
