Título: A 15-year-old recurrence of Odontogenic Keratocyst in a Nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome patient - case report

Resumo: Basal cell carcinomas (BCC) and Odontogenic Keratocysts (OKC) are two major components of the nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS). Herein, we report a case of a 44-year old woman diagnosed with NBCCS referred for evaluation of multiple lesions observed on the routine panoramic radiographic exam. The patient was submitted to enucleation of multiple OKC 15 years ago. At the Intraoral exam, the presence of an oral fistula in the right upper canine region was observed. The panoramic radiography showed a well-defined radiolucent lesion in the right posterior mandible and in the anterior right maxilla - both sites previously operated. Therefore, the patient was submitted to the surgical excision of both lesions, under general anesthesia and the histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of OK for both locations. Therefore, OK arising on NBCCS may present a late recurrence and patients should keep a close follow-up throughout their life.
